The Stories We Are
25th – 29th June  2024
Reid Ground Floor Corridor

The Stories We Are is an exhibition which is part of the Our Stories Our Voices project by The Village Storytelling Centre. This project engages adults from across Glasgow in storytelling workshops to share, listen and create stories. This project aims to encourage people to find their own voice and decide what story they would like to share and how it will be told.

The exhibition gathers stories and the artwork created by the participants from various Village groups, who creatively explored the theme of identity. Some of the questions they asked throughout this process were: Who are we? Where did we come from? What do we stand for? How do our stories look and sound?

You will read and listen to the stories related to each piece of work. In these recorded stories the participants shared memories or fictional narratives that inspired their art.

The community groups involved include: Voices of Peace, This Woman´s Voice and Wheatley Care Maryhill and Marfield Livingwell Services.

Based in the community of Pollok, Glasgow, Village Storytelling Centre is Scotland’s leading applied storytelling organisation and a centre for contemporary oral storytelling.

This exhibition is part of Village Storytelling Festival 2024, taking place at CCA 25-30 June 2024.
