IDGSA + anOrdain: Making Interiors
7th – 16th November 2024
Reid Ground Floor Corridor
IDGSA + anOrdain: Making Interiors is a collaborative project between Glasgow-based specialist watchmakers anOrdain and Year 3 Interior Design students (2023-24).
anOrdain, renowned for its intricate handcrafted enamel watches, presented a unique and exciting challenge to the students to designing a hybrid interior that seamlessly integrates a retail area to showcase the watches and specialist workshop facilities. Fundamental to the design was to consider the flow and functionality of the interior while incorporating aesthetic elements that reflect anOrdain’s brand identity.
Located in the Southside of Glasgow, the two-story annexe required the students to solve a complex spatial puzzle whilst creating the right balance between work, rest and play, whilst incorporating traditional craft skills to develop bespoke details for the interior.
