City Through a Pinhole – a Photography Exhibition by Year One Communication Design Students
25th  – 30th October
Reid Ground Floor Corridor

At the beginning of this weeklong project, Year 1 Students from the Department of Communication Design built their own pinhole cameras and then used them to explore the objects, people, infrastructure and architecture of Glasgow. Using this unfamiliar technique to make photographs was not without its challenges – but through perseverance and a lot of experimentation with exposure times and composition the students have truly embraced this simple and rudimentary form of black and white photography. The prints on view represent only a small selection of the hundreds that were made over the course of a few days, but hopefully they give you a sense of the city through a pinhole.
